The Scheslan Mountains are the primary boundary between Deutscheslavania and Neutralia. A range, the Tommesche, slightly north of the Scheslan chain is separated from the main chain by the Tranian Forest. Beyond that, still northward, is the Veravanian Mountain Frontier that forms the natural and political boundary with the Kingdom of Veravania.
The southern most region of Delasia is called Dannunifian Plains, a large flatland that produces fertile fields and beef meats for most of the continent. Slightly northeast of this grassland is a dense forested area called the Nordanic Weeds.
A great many rivers flow through the continent including the Achtungen River, which runs through the northern Deutscheslavanian providence of Actungland, and the Nunni River that nourish Dannunifius. Major rivers form the boundaries of several Delasian nations including the Nordannis River, the boundary of Nordannis and Deutscheslavania, the Eizen River, that forms the border between Vicberg and Deutscheslavania, and the mighty Verac River that flows between Veravania and Deutscheslavania.
Stenfine extends from the Felisorian Peninsula to Goon Island. Two major mountain ranges run from north to south. The first are the Tufan Mountains that lie just east of the Plains of Elise, the other is the Finderhester Chain that divide Fineland from Stefanfang. Two deserts also exist, the Grand Seagree Desert in Nos Riosland and the Montayma Desert in eastern Stefanfang.
Delasia and Stenfine Historical Geography
The various mountains have served to confound and protect nations of Delasia and prevent the distinct Delasian cultures from spilling into each other. Aside from the isolation of Treyland, whose Channel was not crossed by Dannunifians and Deutscheslavanians until fairly recently, most Delasian nations evolved their culture through organized conflict. Western Deutscheslavania would be many time a battleground in ancient and modern times, while the eastern parts of the country have been shielding by the mountains.
Veravania has resisted Deutscheslavanian assimilation mostly due to the Veravanian, sometimes called the Veraland, Mountains. Recent evidence suggests that the land between Veravania and the Scheslan Range was not inhabited in ancient times. It is believed that the Tufans, Dannunians or Pagans circumnavigated the Scheslan Mountains and settled along the coast. The Tommie Expedition may have been the first organized Oddeseans to enter that area for settlement.
History began on the Felisorian Peninsula with the founding of Felica by Tufu. Until that time Oddeseans lived as nomadic Pagans on or near the Felisorian Peninsula with a few tribes in southern Delasia and western Stenfine.
Forests have contributed much to the historical development of Delasia. The Cantic forest formed a geographic barrier between the ancient Cantanata and Bellario tribes forming a distinct cultural difference between the northern and the southern parts of the country. The Nordanic forest was where advanced carpentry developed.
