Jamsterberg Compact-
This was an official protest to Jamsterdavania that accompanied the Deutscheslavanian Royal Decree of 1881. In July 1881 Jamsterdavania acknowledged the significance of the situation at the Smalltree colony and began a long negotiation with Deutscheslavanian diplomats over who had the legal claim to the land. The Deutscheslavanians maintained that they had control of the land since the 18 Century and that they had made it an official colony in 1803. Jamsterdavania pointed to the lack of Deutscheslavanian settlement and the success of its own colonies in the just one year of its existence. Deutscheslavania threatened to expel the settlers out by force. Jamsterdavania countered the threat with one of war. All seemed lost until Jacob Gunterheim, Deutscheslavanian ambassador suggest joint settlement.

Officials adjourned and reconvened at Smalltree September 1882. They elected to meet a Berg, a traditional township and original Deutscheslavanian settlement. The committee drafted and approved the Jamsterberg Compact. This, in effect, established duel jurisdiction and a duel settlement between both National Powers. The new settlement was divided into two ethnic sections and lands were governed by the nationality of their owner. The Prime failure of this document is that no central unifying body was created to administer the new colony and shield the population from national wars.

Jamsterberg was founded on December 2, 1882. Although the national identity of the population was split, however the groundwork for a new hybrid society developed.
