Darion, Dununder-
Darion played an important role in the settlement of Dununder’s interior and in the industrial development of central Dununder. The site where Darion now stands, home to Native Dununderans, was known as 'The Old Fort'. A road connecting The Old Fort to the lands South of the Jamsterdavanian Northern District followed Sixen Trail (blazed by the Baron Helmut Sixen of Deutscheslavania); was the road first paid for by the Jamsterdavanian Government; and was known as the ' National Trans-Dununder Road ' or 'Brigger Road'. The road was later improved and used for pioneer and military use by the Jamsterdavanians and Deutscheslavanians during the mid-20th century.

Darion situated, at the central point of the Grolihari desert, on Brigger Road and overlooking the land where major oilfields would one day be located was the gateway to the South. Thomas Darion, realizing that pioneers would be drawn to the South area to get to the fertile lands and the Tree settlements, purchased land in the 1700's and by mid 1700's a town was being mapped out.

It was then, that the town of Darion (named for Thomas Darion and formerly known as The Old Fort) became an important water and rest point for travelers. The businessmen from Sixen and Mission San Greo supplied transportation and supplies to the traveling pioneers, and the town became very prosperous.

The oil industry took over to facilitate traffic along Brigger Road in the early 1900’s. The very first shipment of oil, called the Our Basket, to travel out of the Darion area was assembled in the Darion Oil Field.
