Dannunifian Constitution of 1808-
The Dannunifian Constitution of 1808 established the first Oddesean Constitutional Monarchy. The principle of divine right had existed since the first governments came into being. The historian and political scientist Earache in 5504 B.C. documented that the Tufan Emperors were “granted with the grace and tolerance of God almighty” and “were ruled by the wisdom of heaven.” As centuries passed many monarchs began to abuse their power. In 1676, Jamsterdavania ended its revolution against the Deutscheslavanian Monarchy by winning independence. This Jamsterdavanian Revolution challenged the concept of having a monarch at all. The Jamsterdavanians maintained that the will of God was held with the people not an Emperor.

The Jamsterdavanians established the principle of popular sovereignty and documented it in a written constitution. This constitution established a parliament, a clearly defined military and, most notably, abolished the idea of a king in favor of a president for life.

Nations with monarchies polarized on the issue of drafting a constitutional monarchy, a form of government that included a parliament or advisory council that was elected to advise and inform the king on subjects relating to domestic and foreign issues.

Two opposing forces gathered on the subject within Dannunifius. The True Monarchists, mostly found in Northern Dannunifian regions, stood on the argument that only a pure monarchy based on divine right could rule over a people based on religious issues. The Constutionale Faction, also called Constitutional Monarchists were made up mostly of Southern Dannunifians, supported the notion that a parliament should be established to advise the king on matters based on popular sovereignty.

Acting under extreme pressure, King Carlos V ordered that a constitution be drafted in 1790. This motion was tabled due to the death of Carlos V that same year. No serious attempts to write a constitution were made until the death of King Carlos VI in 1805.

In 1806 due to a lack of an heir apparent, key advisors begin drafting a Constitutional Monarchy despite Degarto’s warnings of backlash. Pietro Castilians led this movement and, despite objections from the Crown Protectorate Janos Degarto, opened a constitutional convention in Caboto, Dannunifius.

The democratic council, under Pietro Castilians termed itself the Legion of New Sacia had drafted a new Constitution. In return for support, Castilians would support Stefan Donox’s petition to the ruling Crown Protectorate. This would trigger a rebellion in Treyland and Nordanis.

On January 20, 1808 Stefan Donox was crowned King and Emperor of the United Kingdom of Dannunifius, Treyland and Nordanis and the constitution was placed into effect through ratification of the new monarch.

The Constitution of 1808 establishes the new government in VIII articles-
