Bunbenic, House of-
The House of Bunbenic is the family name of a wealthy merchant family in Treyland that eventually became the Royal Family of that nation. The House of Bunbenic ruled over Treyland from 1808 until 1938 when it was overthrown by an Elevenist movement.

The House of Bunbenic is mentioned as early as 1304 when Dannunifian census takers were assigned to Treyland. The family became known for its shipbuilding and business skills and soon dominated trade between Dannunifius and the Trelandic islands. In1636, Caesar Bunbenic was granted the title of Archduke of Carlone by King Daniel II of Dannunifius.

The Bunbenics maintained loyal control of Treyland until the early 1800’s. In 1808, the Treyland Principality of Carlone, under Archduke Trevor Bunbenic’s direction, rejected the Dannunifian Crown Protectorate’s decision to Crown Stefan Donox King of the New Constitutional Monarchy. Archduke Trevor Bunbenic assumed the Principality and was installed as the First King of Treyland.

The Bunbenics maintained control despite several foreign wars, an invasion of their southern coast and social unrest in 1892 where workers rebelled in Carlone. This changed, however, in the 1930’s as Elevenism from Deutscheslavania made its way into Treyland. In 1937, an armed group of Elevenists was brutally disbursed in Bellario. Despite warnings from Dannunifian officials and the Church, King Spanos II refused to fully address the issue. On September 18, 1938 the Elevenists seized control of the Palace of Carlone and expelled the Bunbenics from Treyland.

The House of Bunbenic was absorbed into the Von Arthur line in 1949 and remained a Royal Surname until the death of Prince Spanos Bunbenic III in 1997. Most of the Bunbenics living in Deutscheslavania were exterminated during Great Purge of 1953 where Tommie Party officials ordered the death of 5 million Deutscheslavanian and other Deutscheslavanian residents who were seen as unfavorable. The Bunbenic family in Treyland, although forced by the new regime to denounce their titles, still operates a sizable trading company called the Royal Bunbenic Company, which operates out of Cantanata.
